There is something about this painting, the child-like wonder expressed with adult skill and maturity that I LOVE. It might even be the theme of (or my hope for) this blog.

Other paintings from Thomas Cole are all beautiful and inspired landscapes (shoutout to the Hudson River School), but the serious whimsy on display here is one of a kind.
